Just wanted to share with you how I got through the last few hours of my week! Thanks to the amazing Q2 Photographer Jesse Kester... I finished up the day with a nice shoulder massage! Lets just say this NEVER happens... its worth the try to talk highly about it and see if it can happen on a REGULAR Basis!!

Heres another way we like to relax at Q2... in the back of a truck...on a love seat...in the Q2 parking lot... with some of my favorite people (Q2's Richie Melby and Jesse Kester) AHH How much better can it get :)

Relay For Life A Huge Success

Hello everyone, Q2's Richie Melby blogging at ya on this Monday. With Jennifer being gone I figured I should step up to the plate and let you all know what's going on at KTVQ. On Friday night myself along with fellow Q2ers Kyle Rickhoff, Jesse Kester, Pam Hofferber, Katie Schwend, and Katrina Heser (along with her little sister Karen) headed out to the Relay for Life at West High School. The event raises money for the American Cancer Society and this year it brought in $656,450 which is almost $11,000 more than last year! It was amazing to see the support that the community put forth. It was especially emotional during the Survivor Lap to see all of those individuals who have overcome the disease walk around the track as proof that there is hope in the fight against cancer. With every dollar the American Cancer Society receives researchers are that much closer to finding a cure.

Here at Q2 we went around asking you for Your Stories and why you were walking in the Relay For Life. Photographer Jesse Kester(Jesse is in the orange-->) edited a brilliant piece from the interviews we did so if you haven't checked that out make sure to take a look. It was touching to hear from you about your personal experiences with the Relay for Life and the fight against cancer so thanks to everyone who was willing to share!

All in all the Relay for Life was a HUGE success because of all of you that came out and took the time for such a worthy cause. It's nice to see members of the community come together and show that we are determined in finding a cure for such a terrible disease. Hope to see you all and more again next year!

MONTANA WOMENS RUN

The Montana Womens Run was a week ago... but my Best Friend Courtney Hanson and I had to let our muscles rest a bit before posting our pictures (it was just too painful ;)

So we stretched (not going to lie... we actually just stretched for these pictures...that wasn't the best idea though!!
*

...and met up with other Q2 employees Pam Hofferber, Carole Hefenieder, Julie Lovell, Courtney Hanson and I...BEFORE the race!

Before I get too far into things... I should explain that Courtney and I are both athletes...competed in High school and stay healthy...but we were planning on walking with the rest of the crew.... UNTIL the gun went off.... when the massive crowd of people didnt move... we decided we were going to RUN!! A last minute descion

that turned out to hurt in the short term... but made us feel good that we still "had it"!

We found out later that there were 142 finishers in the Women 20 to 24 age group out of the 2,915 finishers in the 2 mile race. and we placed 38th and 39th in our age range!!! We are pretty proud of that (especially for not planning on running and NOT STRETCHING!!)

THIS WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF THE RACE... THINKING WE WERE ABOUT TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE AND REALIZING THAT WE HAD ONLY RAN A MILE!!!

I will never forget Q2's Dennis Lyle (PRODUCTION EXTRODINAIRE) running after Courtney and I with his HEAVY camera AND Tripod....hopefully he didnt get any footage of us running :)

Finally we crossed the finish line!! What a blast and awesome to accomplish to do something we both have wanted to do together!!

Look Alikes!!

With only three days until Mothers Day, thousands of miles seperating my Mom and I and a card in the mail that will probably get to her late (it is sweeps..not a lot of time to send off a card.. even though I have had it for two weeks!!) I figured there would be a better way to tell my Mom I love her...by admitting that I look like her for everyone to see!!

My Mom, Me, My "Adopted Brother"Q2 Sports: Richie Melby, My Dad and My "Adopted Sister" Q2's Courtney Hanson!
My Mom and I in Red Lodge MT 2006

All this week it has been fun to talk about how much my Mom and I look alike! Its funny WHO people think I look like... all growing up relatives and friends told me I looked like my Dad, curly hair and dark skin...the ultimate Swiss girl. Now days I look in the mirror and see my Mom staring back at me! There are even sometimes where people think I look like my sister (people think we look alike way more than we would ever admit!)

My Sister and her friend John Stamos (Uncle Jesse from Full House)

BUT!! here in Billings, I have been confused for two of my co-workers Nikki Laurenzo and Neille Giffune...take a look for yourself:
My Long Lost sister Q2's Nikki Laurenzo
Former Q2 Sports Anchor Neille Giffune, Me, Former Q2 Reporter Cindi Dehoog and Newscast Director Melanie Connole in Butte for St. Patricks Day 2007

So if you look like a celebrity,
a relative or have your own unique image... Someone will ALWAYS have someone they think you look like!
